Using Molds: Nov

This is a class for newer members who have not yet worked with a variety of molds. You will learn about the types of molds we have at the club and how to use them “properly”. Using these molds we will make several projects; a plate, a bowl, a cup, a serving dish, and talk about other things you can make such as planters, vases, luminaries, large platters, sets of dishes…. We will also talk about how you can make your own molds.
Supplies:
- A bag of clay— your choice of clay
- Slip to match your clay
- Basic tools
- A horseshoe tool (we sell it at the Monitor Desk).
Instructor
Michele is an artist, retired school counselor and art teacher. On the first day of class her students always asked, “When are we doing clay?” And, of course, upon moving to SCW her first question was, “When can I join the clay club?!”
She is a former education co-chair, a former Beginning Hand Building teacher, and teaches a variety of other classes throughout the year.
