Strip Vases: April 2026

In this class you will learn the process to create and decorate a Strip Vase using texture and silicone molds for edge decorating. I will have some molds available for use or bring your own if you like them.
Supplies needed:
- Clay of your choice with matching slip
- 18″ ruler if you have one
- Horseshoe cutter (we sell these in the club, purchase BEFORE class)
- Texture (min 2″ wide)
- Mat to work on
- Basic clay tools
- Corn starch or Pam as needed for texture
- Edging/embellishment molds if you have them
- Ware board from the handbuilding side of the club
DO NOT roll out your clay in advance of the class!

I have been a member of the clay club since 2017. I love the wheel and have found great satisfaction in hand building. I am currently the chair as well as an instructor for Beginning Hand Building. My professional background was an Emergency Room RN and I retired after 36 years. I found crafting as a therapeutic outlet from an otherwise stressful life and now LOVE our club and community.
