| March 29 | 9am-11am | Extrude coils |
| March 30 & 31 | 8:30am-12pm | Build pots |
In Tom’s Coil Class you will learn how to extrude and build coil pots. His teaching technique is very hands on and he will guide you through the extrusion process, cleaning of the extruder, storage of clay and the actual building process. He will also be available to assist in the glazing process and help if you need assistance using the extruder for future projects.
He is joined in the classes by fellow teachers Donna Richmond and Gretchen Waller and all are eager to share their expertise and knowledge.
For this class you will need:
- 25 lbs Redstone clay to extrude the first day
- An airtight plastic container 16”L x 13”W x 6”H
- Cutting knife
- Small round sponge
- 2 old hand towels
- 20 plastic grocery bags
- Thumb tool
The first day of class will be just the extrusion of coils. Be sure to bring your clay, Redstone if available and if not, Speckled Buff and also the plastic container to store the coils. Day two and three will be building at least two pots. The coil team is looking forward to a fun class, see you then.
